How to sign up and manage your 55Photos account?
  • you can use your existing Facebook or Google account to sign up for 55Photos. Just click appropriate button and your 55Photos account will be created automatically. 55Photos will also automatically link photo services associated with your Facebook or Google account to your 55Photos account
  • you can also sign up in a traditional way by creating your 55Photos account manually. Please note that all fields are mandatory. 55Photos uses info from "Username" field for correspondence only



  • if you used Facebook or Google account to sign up for 55Photos but later decided to login in a traditional way using email and password, you have an option to set a password. Click menu item "Set password", an email with instructions will be sent to you
  • at any time you can change username associated with your 55Photos account



If you already have a password for your 55Photos account, you can change it anytime through "Change password" menu.

How to link my social network, photo sharing and cloud file storage accounts to my 55Photos account?
  • click "Manage Links"
  • click "Add Link" and select a photo service you want to link to your 55Photos account

How to manage links to social network, photo sharing and cloud file storage accounts?
  • open "Linked Photo Service Accounts" window and select a link you want to manage
  • click "Verify Link" if you want to make sure that highlighted link is still valid
  • click "Reauthorize Link" if you want to reset selected link and then relink selected account
  • click "Delete Link" if you do not want to link selected account anymore. Only selected link will be deleted, photo content will not be affected

How to refresh list of albums?
  • select a parent folder that is usually called "Albums"
  • click "Reload children of the selected item"

How to refresh photos and how does the page cache work?

55Photos shows your photos by pages. By default a page contains 100 photo thumbnails. Once thumbnails and photo details are loaded, they are cached. So if you go back to a previous page, it's loaded from the page cache rather than from a photo service. Once you leave album, the cache is reset.

To refresh photos on the current page, just click "Reload photos". Photos will be reloaded from a photo service.

How to select photos for transfer or download?
There are several ways to select photos

You can use drag-select by clicking and holding down the left mouse button while dragging the cursor over photos you want to select.
Selected photos are marked by a tick automatically.




You can click on every photo you want to select. Click again to deselect a photo.




You can click "Select All" to select all photos on the current page. Please note that "Select All" does not select all album photos.
Click "Deselect All" if you want to reset selection of photos.

How to initiate transfer of selected photos?
There are two ways to initiate a transfer after photos for transfer are selected

You can drag-and-drop selected photos to album/folder/collection/user account/page/group/event. If your drop target is valid, you will see
If you are dropping photos on anything except album, you will be asked to create a new album.




You can also use "Transfer Wizard". Go to "Photos" menu and choose "Transfer Photos". Select a transfer destination and click "Next".
If your selected destination is not an album, you will be asked to create a new album.

How to transfer or download entire album?
  • select an album you want to transfer or download
  • go to "Album" menu and select "Transfer Album" or "Download Album"

How to upload photos?
There are two ways to initiate an upload of photos

  • select an album you want to upload into
  • go to "Photos" menu and select "Upload Photos"
  • select photos to upload using your system "Open File" dialog. You can select more than one photo



  • select an album you want to upload into
  • using your system "File Explorer" select photos to upload and drag them over the photo thumbnails area
  • once you see that backgroud changed to "Drop photos here", drop photos to initiate an upload

How to create a new album?

Every time you initiate a transfer, you have an option to create a new album. You just need to tick the "new album" check-box.




If you are initiating a transfer to folder/collection/user account/page/group/event, the "new album" option is selected by default and not shown.

How to delete photos and albums?

Select photos or an album. Go to "Photos" or "Album" menu and choose "Delete Photos" or "Delete Album".

How to edit photo details like description?

The list of details available for browsing and editing depends on a photo service. Not all details can be edited. For example, this Flickr photo has many details but only "Title", "Description" and "Tags" can be amended.

To begin editing details click "Edit Details".




Once you switch to the edit mode, you can edit text fields. You cannot edit tags but you can remove tags and add new ones.

To finish your edit session click "Cancel Editing" or "Submit".

How to edit album details?

Most of photo services allow you to edit album details however not all details can be edited. For example, you can edit "Name" and "Description" of a Flickr album but you cannot change "Created" date.

  • go to menu "Album" and click "Album Details"
  • browse or edit details
  • close the window or submit changes

How to change photo permissions and license (Flickr only)?

Most photo services allow you to grant access permission at the album level only. However Flickr allows you to grant various permissions and set license for each photo individually.

  • select photo(s) for which you want to change permissions or license
  • go to menu "Photos" and click "Permissions and License"
  • browse or edit permissions and license
  • close the window or submit changes

How to change album access permission (Picasa and VK only)?

Some photo services like Picasa and VK allow you to change album access permission.

  • go to menu "Album" and click "Album Details"
  • browse or edit access permission
  • close the window or submit changes

How to edit photos in online photo editors?

55Photos works with five different online photo editors. You can try all of them and choose the one that suits your needs. To start editing a photo first click on a photo to load it into "Photo Details" pane then select a photo editor from "Edit Photo" menu.




To finish photo editing in Ribbet click "55Photos" button in the top right corner.




To finish photo editing in PicMonkey click "Save" button.




To finish photo editing in FotoFlexer click "Save" button.




To finish photo editing in Pixlr go to menu "File" and select "Save". Click "OK" in the "Save image" window.




To finish photo editing in Pixlr Express click "Save" button.




After you finish your photo editing session, you will return to 55Photos to select a destination album for the edited photo. Please note that you can select any album from any linked photo service, not just original album. You can also create a new album.




55Photos always tries to preserve details of the original photo when you save the edited copy. In the example below the original photo is stored on Flickr but the edited copy is being saved to Picasa album. 55Photos is using description and tags of the original photo. You can edit photo details in "Save Edited Photo" window before you click "Submit".

How to search public photos (Flickr and VK only)?
  • click "Search" on the "Navigation" pane
  • enter search parameters
  • browse search result

Please note that you can transfer and download photos from search results like you do from your own albums. You can also start a slideshow of found public photos.

Please respect copyrights if you make copies of publicly available photos.

How to use slideshow?
  • click "Slideshow" menu to start a slideshow. You can start a slideshow of any album including search results
  • photos are shown automatically but you can pause slideshow or control it manually
  • you can switch to full screen at any time
  • you can change interval and transition effect in the "Settings" menu
  • photo title and photo description are shown in the slideshow window
  • you can also hover mouse cursor over a photo that is being shown to see description and navigation controls
